Cybersquatters have reduced activity

Russian Internet users to actively capture "foreign" domain names, according to a report by the World Intellectual Property Organization, the United Nations. However, in the first place in the number of complaints received by WIPO, is still in the U.S.. During 2009 the staff of WIPO received 44 complaints of Russian Internet users, who registered "foreign" domain (domain names that resonate names of famous companies or names of celebrities). The share of applications increased, but the share of Russia in the global ranking of countries, "cybersquatters" small - ten years of the Uniform Domain Dispute Resolution Policy, developed by WIPO, the Russians had filed 251 complaints. Number of complaints received by the residents of the United States from 1999 to 2009 amounted to 7,209, the newspaper Kommersant.
