Internet access in the region continues to become cheaper

Last year, the cost of Internet access in the Russian province has decreased by 30-60%. However, despite this, the level of Internet penetration in the regions remains low - at 1.5 times lower than in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Regional audience is growing along with the reduction in the cost of access to the network. According to a recent report by Yandex, for Internet access at speeds 1Mbit/sek Muscovites pay about 71 rubles, St. Petersburg - 74 rubles a month. In the Ural district similar services is estimated at 167 rubles, Privolzhe - 184 rubles, the Central Federal District (excluding Moscow) - 193 rubles a month. Even more expensive Internet access in Siberia - 301 rubles per 1 Mb / s, in the Southern District - 344 rubles, in the North-West District (excluding St. Petersburg) - 365 rubles. The highest rates are still recorded in the Far East Federal District - 936 rubles. The level of Internet penetration in Moscow is 68%, in the regions - 42%. If current trends continue, by the autumn of 2014 the gap between the capital and the rest of Russia will be reduced threefold, from 26 to 8%.
